Black Aces Stun Hullabaloo, 4-1
|
The Lincoln Black Aces picked up a win at The Zoo, knocking off the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo, 4-1. Starting pitcher Jody McDaniel played a key role in the triumph. Lincoln reliever Mike Smith was the winner. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Devon Pavese. The Black Aces sit in third place in the Patriot League Central Division with a record of 31-29.
Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Caleb Jones's at-bat in the top of the ninth was crucial. With no one out, the Lincoln catcher hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Lincoln skipper Matt Harris.
