Waterspouts Stymie Boise, Take 2-1 Win
|
It was a good time at Coconuts Park, where fans came to watch the Boise Idahosies and Honolulu Waterspouts get after it.
Honolulu Waterspouts starter Ryan Grosso pitched a strong game against the Boise Idahosies at Coconuts Park, leading the Waterspouts to a 2-1 win. Grosso got the win, improving to 9-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Grosso allowed 1 earned run. Ismael Jimenez nailed down his 4th save.
The Waterspouts beat the Idahosies in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Tom Kerber produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Boise pitcher Art Wilcox, Kerber gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kerber told the Honolulu Today.
Honolulu is now riding a 3-game win streak.
