Tyrants Win in Extras
|
The Tallahassee Tyrants knocked off the Honolulu Waterspouts, 6-4, at Pirate Pete's Putt-Putt & Family Fun Complex. Jamie Swearingen, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Tallahassee won. The third baseman went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Tallahassee is 33-29 and Honolulu, with the loss, 28-33.
Swearingen had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 1-1 fastball from Alejandro Santos, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Tyrants a 6-4 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Swearingen.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Swearingen.
