Wichita-Norfolk Swap: Depablos for Morris Saturday, July 18th, 2026 BNN has learned the Wichita Warlocks have reportedly worked out a deal with the Norfolk Commodores. Sources close to the Warlocks indicated that a trade has been reached in principle where 29-year-old LHP John Morris and 21-year-old minor league SS Erick Castaneda will be swapped to Wichita with 29-year-old 1B Jose Depablos heading to Norfolk. Neither organization would comment on the report, saying it was club policy not to speak about a trade until it was finalized. In 78 games this season Depablos has compiled a .267 batting average with 64 hits and 5 home runs. He has also scored 33 times and knocked in 38 runs. This year Morris has chalked up a 3.19 ERA with no saves. In 38 relief appearances he has put up a 1-5 won-lost mark and struck out 14 batters in 31 innings. |
