5-for-8 Day for Kato Thursday, October 8th, 2026 Daisuke Kato had an answer for everything the Bismarck Dire Wolves threw at him today at Cabela's Park. The Anchorage center fielder went 5-for-8 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Ice Sox on top, 6-5. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Kato said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Daisuke Kato singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 9th, grounded out in the 12th, struck out in the 14th and hit an RBI triple in the 16th. So far this season Kato is batting .305 with 17 home runs, 52 RBIs and 59 runs scored. He has 125 hits in 410 at-bats, 13 walks and a .327 OBP. Kato has played in 101 games. |
