Division Series Goes the Distance, New Haven Prevails Sunday, October 18th, 2026 The New Haven Tempest and Toledo Cheesepressers hooked up in a classic Division Series that went right down to the wire. In the end, it's New Haven heading off to the League Championship Series, after a 5-2 win at Velveeta Field tonight earned the 3-2 series win. Outside Velveeta Field, whether they were supporters of New Haven or Toledo, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget. Ryan Freeman played the hero for the Tempest in the series, as his MVP performance included a .450 batting average, with a .476 on-base percentage. He also had 0 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.
