The first-place Toledo Cheesepressers took on the Corpus Christi Kingfishers at Velveeta Field.

Toledo starter Wilber York put a stranglehold on the Corpus Christi offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Cheesepressers to a 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was York, now 17-10. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Robby Cappel, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 37th save.

In the bottom of the third, Toledo designated hitter Nate McCleary had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and one out, McCleary stroked a 2-run home run to right. It made the score 2-0, Toledo. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said York.

Toledo now sits in first place in the United League East Division at 100-55.
