Cleaver has 4 hit night, Leads Cheesepressers to Win
|
The Toledo Cheesepressers defeated the Knoxville Running Rebels, 12-3, in United League action at Smith and Wesson Field. Russ Cleaver received player of the game honors. The 3-year veteran went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. The Cheesepressers, at 104-58, have a comfortable 22-game lead in their division.
Nate McCleary helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give Toledo a 2-0 lead.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Cleaver.
