Ice Sox Win League Championship Series
The Anchorage Ice Sox are bound for the World Series.

A 5-3 win over the Tallahassee Tyrants at Pirate Pete's Putt-Putt & Family Fun Complex ended the League Championship Series, 4-1.

"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pretty pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Rick Lester. "This could be the biggest celebration Anchorage has ever seen if we can win the World Series."

The state of the Federal Baseball League championship remains in doubt, but the Ice Sox certainly appear to be strong contenders.

Lester was named MVP of the League Championship Series after he posted a .381 batting average, while adding 2 home runs, driving in 6 RBI and scoring 3 runs.

The Anchorage Ice Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Saskatoon Platoon - New Haven Tempest series. New Haven leads the series 2 game to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
