Tempest Even With Ice Sox After Home Win
|
The New Haven Tempest and the Anchorage Ice Sox will take the World Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Tempest beat the Ice Sox 4-3 at Hartford Courant Center to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. New Haven left-hander John Quinn was named player of the game in the win after he threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs.
Marcus Butts, who was drafted in the three round of the 2016 draft, aided the New Haven cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"This was a good win for us," said Butts. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is scheduled for Monday, October 29th, 2018 at Hartford Courant Center. Slated to start are Mark Stephens for Anchorage and Philip Lundholm for New Haven.
