Cheesepressers Escape Pride in 13, Now Lead Series 1-0
When the games really matter, the Toledo Cheesepressers put on their best show, beating the Savannah Pride by a final score of 4-3 today. Bret Rubbo earned player of the game honors, as he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Toledo now leads Savannah 1-0 in the best-of-3 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Toledo shortstop Xavier Gomez, facing Chad Hyink, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cheesepressers the 4-3 win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gomez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Game 2 is set to be played on Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at Velveeta Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Marc Seibel for the Pride and R.J. Fallon for the Cheesepressers.
