The Toledo Cheesepressers topped the Little Rock Mighty Cocks, 3-2, in United League action at Durex Field. The player of the game was Toledo pitcher and Vaughan, Canada native Wilber York. The last-place Mighty Cocks have lost 4 consecutive games.
Had Aaron Short not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Short hit a solo home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Cheesepressers.
York told a Toledo Gazette reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
