In a low-scoring clash between Toledo and Honolulu, pitcher Eric Brunt was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Toledo in the 3-1 win. Brunt, now 7-9, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Toledo, now 62-58, holds second place in the United League East Division.

Tied up with the Waterspouts in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cheesepressers got a boost from third baseman J.R. Salvano. With a runner on 1st, Salvano saw a 1-1 fastball from Kenny Fuja and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Toledo on top, 3-1.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Brunt said.
