Savannah third baseman Bobby Randol picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the New Haven Tempest, 4-3. Nick Kattenhorn, the winner, improved to 6-2. He held New Haven to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Grant King recorded his 1st save for Savannah.

Randol had a key at-bat for Savannah early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and gave Savannah an early 2-0 lead.
