Cheesepressers Lose to Warlocks, 5-4
|
Harry Cornelius helped his team muscle past the Toledo Cheesepressers, 5-4. In the game, the Wichita shortstop was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Losses have been few and far between for the Cheesepressers, who are now 18-7.
Cornelius contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Wichita in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Cornelius took a fastball from Wilber York and stroked the home run to left. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Warlocks to leap in front, 5-4.
"We'll savor this win," Cornelius told the Wichita Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
