Ranger Stars for Pride in 6-4 Win
|
The Savannah Pride and Kalamazoo Hullabaloo completed their game despite the rain.
Savannah designated hitter Chris Ranger was instrumental in his team's 6-4 win over the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo. Ranger, who is rated as the 28th best prospect by BNN, went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Pride. Savannah reliever Chad Hyink picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Todd Elzea took the loss.
Had Bobby Randol not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Randol hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Pride.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Ranger said after the game.
With the win over Kalamazoo, the Pride improved to 16-21.
