Fighting Beetles Continue Skid Thanks to McCleary, Cheesepressers
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Nate McCleary, the Toledo Cheesepressers defeated the Tucson Fighting Beetles, 9-2. McCleary went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Cheesepressers. Chris Matula got the win, improving to 4-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Toledo has now won 11 straight.

McCleary came through with some timely hitting for Toledo. With the score 3-0 in the bottom of the second and two down, McCleary hit a 1-2 changeup for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season made it 6-0, Toledo.

In postgame comments to the Toledo Gazette, McCleary said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
