Kingfishers Deal Cheesepressers Painful Loss
|
Corpus Christi beat Toledo at Fallow Field, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Bob Kons, who earned player of the game honors. The win was credited to Terry Farrow in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Robby Cappel took the loss. Corpus Christi has now won 3 straight, while the Cheesepressers have lost 3 in a row.
Corpus Christi won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Robby Cappel on the mound for Toledo, first baseman Ernie Cordell hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Kingfishers fans to their feet.
