Mighty Cocks Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Cheesepressers
|
Little Rock rode a fine outing from starter Jose Canton to victory over the Toledo Cheesepressers at Durex Field. The final score was 3-1. The winner was Grant Holman in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Brad Ruggerio took the loss. Jason Taylor sewed up the save, his 6th.
Little Rock took a 2-1 lead on John Drader's 42nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Drader hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Toledo pitcher Brad Ruggerio visibly frustrated.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Little Rock manager Angelo Alvarez.
Little Rock now owns a record of 21-28.
